Romania hosts joint Wind Spring-24 exercise with Moldova

The joint events take place at a military training ground near the Romanian village of Cincu. The exercise began on May 8 and will last until May 24.

Before the start of the exercise, the Moldovan Ministry of Defense stated that the purpose of the event was to train and improve decision-making. It also strengthens tactical and operational knowledge and skills and increases interoperability between participants.

The exercise is part of a plan of joint training activities for 2024 between the 2nd Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova and the 81st Mechanized Brigade of the Romanian Army.

As previously reported, the National Army of Moldova will conduct mobilization exercises for reservists as part of a routine check of their combat readiness and skills. The exercises will take place in the second half of May, with the first stage to be held between May 20 and 24, and the second from May 27 to 31. The Moldovan Ministry of Defense is holding a meeting of reservists who are to receive calls at their place of residence and report to military commissariats shortly.

According to the Ministry, this will be the second training of reservists this year.

The first was held in March, and the third is scheduled for June. The May exercises will last five days. The main purpose of the exercise is to test the reservists' skills.

The reservists will be able to improve their knowledge of military regulations, weapons handling skills, and knowledge of materiel.
