The Spanish Ministry of Defense announced that an additional 400 Ukrainian servicemen will be accepted for training. Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles also discussed this issue with her Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umierov. It is noted that the official confirmed the proposal to train another 400 Ukrainian soldiers in response to Ukraine's request to urgently improve the basic training of its military.
Previously, about 4,000 Ukrainian soldiers underwent training on the territory of Spain.

In February, it was reported that Spain had also organized training for Ukrainian servicemen on maintaining Patriot SAM systems.
The General Staff noted that this is one of the new areas of training that Spain has pledged to organize for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2024. "The current situation has made Patriot missiles an important means of protecting the Ukrainian population and the country's infrastructure. Several states have contributed to this project to equip and train their units," the Spanish military stated.
Spain is conducting the training within the European Union Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM-UA), a mission established by the European Union to train the Ukrainian military. Ukrainian servicemen are trained at the center in Toledo, which is subordinated to the Spanish Special Operations Command. It coordinates requests from the Ukrainian government.

Spain asserts particular importance to the military medical training of Ukrainian soldiers.
As previously reported, Spain transferred another batch of military assistance to Ukraine, consisting of medicines, first aid kits, 120mm and 155mm ammunition, and missiles for Patriot air defense systems.
