Quote: "Last year, we believed the summit would yield more tangible results.

This year in Washington, we got them. In particular, the wording of the final declaration of the summit on Ukraine's irreversible path to NATO was vital for us, and the countries established a consensus on this," he said. Among other practical results, Zhovkva called clear promises on the provision of air defence and an increase in the amount of training sessions for Ukrainian pilots and specialists for the F-16 fighter jets.

The official also noted that certain positive initiatives came from NATO, such as a new NATO mission in Ukraine, which would help coordinate the supply of weapons and the process of gaining interoperability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the armies of partners, as well as an agreement on the amount of military assistance worth US£40 billion.

In addition, Zhovkva mentioned the signing of the Ukraine Compact agreement, a multilateral document including responsibilities to support Ukraine.
