Defence Intelligence of Ukraine’s drones attacked an oil depot in the Kursk region

Astra reported on this. The oil depot was attacked around one in the morning on July 28, 2024, in the village of Polievaya, where a total of 10 tanks for short-term oil storage are located. According to local residents, they first heard strange sounds in the sky, followed by several powerful explosions.

The explosion caused a massive fire, which took 82 rescuers and 32 pieces of special equipment to extinguish. Initially, according to official information from Russian authorities, all drones over the Kursk region were shot down, but later the governor of the region confirmed that the oil depot had been hit.

The attacked oil depot is located at coordinates 51.61059313020496, 36.4922042867156 and belongs to the company Polevaya LLC. It is located 150 kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border, and a railway line runs through the village, which can also accommodate fuel tankers.

It should be noted that out of 10 tanks, three were destroyed in the attack on July 28, 2024, and four more were destroyed in the attack on February 15, 2024.

As a reminder, the attack on February 15 resulted in a massive fire at the tank farm.

Then, due to a drone hit, 2 diesel fuel storage tanks with capacities of 1000 and 400 cubic meters started to burn.

Militarnyi previously reported that early in the morning of July 22, attack drones attacked a Russian military airfield in Morozovsk, Rostov Region, and an oil refinery in Tuapse, Krasnodar Krai.
