Szalay-Bobrovniczky did not specify what "efforts" he was referring to or why he believes that a full-scale conflict in Ukraine is "coming to an end". He also blamed the West for "exacerbating" the war rather than "containing" it, allowing Russia to establish a military industry capable of providing the required ammunition, troops, and tanks.

At the same time, he believes that peace in Ukraine can only be brought in from the outside.
