The military published a video of the incident. To destroy the enemy artillery unit, Ukrainian defenders used FPV strike drones. The position of the Russian artillerymen with the Giatsint-S 152mm SPG was probably detected by Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance.
The invaders placed their firing position near a forest belt in the Donetsk region and fired at the Ukrainian Defense Forces position.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have repeatedly destroyed such Russian artillery systems. They have used a variety of weapons, including various drones and high-precision artillery or rocket launchers. In particular, the Security Service of Ukraine recently showed how its officers destroyed an enemy Giatsint-S in Zaporizhzhia.
The Russian artillery system was equipped with additional protection that was supposed to protect it from FPV drones and drops.
