Drones hit a Russian oil depot more than 1,000 kilometers away from Ukraine

28 August, 2024 Drone. Source: freeze frame from ASTRA video. Ukrainian drones attacked the Rosrezerves' Zenit oil depot in Kotelnich, Kirov region of the Russian Federation, which is located more than 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

The Russian media BAZA reported on this. It is announced that four drones at once attacked the oil depot, while some media outlets, citing the local dispatch service, say five, and local media say six. This attack was the first for the region since the beginning of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war.

Local governor Alexander Sokolov confirmed the attack on his social media. He claimed that the attack did not result in a fire, but local residents and the media reported otherwise.
