It is also reported that Germany intends to purchase six additional IRIS-T SLM systems for its Air Force. Earlier, DW claimed, citing a German government representative, that Germany planned to transfer a variety of weapons to Ukraine by the end of 2024, including four IRIS-T air defence systems of various ranges and ten Leopard tanks.

Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung reported that the current budget planning of the German federal government does not provide for additional funds to support Ukraine and that at Chancellor Scholz's request, additional applications from the German Ministry of Defence for military aid to Ukraine would no longer be approved.
