The Russian Federation reported a mass UAV attack on Moscow

Russia reported a massive UAV attack on the night of September 10, with a significant number of them flying toward Moscow. The drones were spotted in the districts of Podolsk, Ramenskoye, Lyubertsy, Domodedovo, and Kolomna. Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Vnukovo airports near Moscow were closed and the Carpet Plan was announced.

Sergei Sobyanin, mayor of Moscow, announced that Russian air defense had shot down drones in different areas around the Russian capital. Eyewitnesses reported on social media the fall of debris and a series of explosions in different places. One of them was the Zhukovsky airport near the city of the same name near Moscow.

The video showed footage of at least one drone crashing directly onto the runway. The wreckage of another of the downed UAVs fell on the roadway.

The mayor of Moscow confirmed the drone crash and said that firefighting was underway at the airport after the UAV crashed "in the vicinity" of the airport. Also, in Ramenskoye, near the Zhukovsky airport near Moscow, as a result of Russian electronic warfare or air defense systems, drones hit several houses.

This was followed by fires. The Russian Ministry of Defense writes that overnight, air defense allegedly shot down 144 Ukrainian drones, particularly in Bryansk, Kaluga, and Moscow regions.

Among them, according to Andrei Vorobyov, governor of the Moscow region, Russian air defense allegedly shot down 14 drones on their approach to the Russian capital.

On September 8, Ukrainian drones attacked a fuel storage site in the Volokonovsky district of the Belgorod region.

It is known that the site belongs to RusAgro and that 12 fuel tanks caught fire as a result of the attack.
