Canada to provide $47 million in military aid to Ukraine
Canada will provide Ukraine with a military aid package worth C£64.8 million Canadian dollars (£47 million). The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said that the package included small arms and ammunition. Canada will also provide personal protective equipment, military uniforms for women, and drones.
Canada will contribute to the training of Ukrainian soldiers and contribute to the IT Capability Coalition. The aid package, which also includes money to train Ukrainian troops, is part of a C£500 million military funding package that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau committed to in July. "The military aid announced today provides Ukraine with the critical resources they need to defend themselves against Russian aggression.
Canada will continue to do everything we can to help them win," Defense Minister Bill Blair said. Canada, one of Kyiv's most consistent supporters internationally, announced last month that it would donate 80,840 surplus small unarmed air-to-ground missiles and 1,300 warheads to Ukraine. Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Canada has allocated 4.5 billion Canadian dollars in military aid.
It should be noted that in October, Canada provided a loan to Ukraine for C£400 million (£300 million). Canada has been among Ukraine's five largest budget support donors since February 2022.

In 2024, Canada has already allocated £1.9 billion in loans.
Canada intends to provide Ukraine with a modern NASAMS air defense system early next year.
