The hospitals of the State Border Guard Service and the National Guard of Ukraine have received military ambulances as part of a comprehensive assistance package from NATO. The press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported on this and published a video. Managed and executed a project on behalf of the North Atlantic Alliance at the Norwegian Defense Materiel Agency (NDMA).

These buses are equipped with modern medical technology and equipment. They allow resuscitation teams to work autonomously with three seriously injured patients while simultaneously transporting four more lying-down and eight sitting patients under medical supervision. Prior to receiving the buses, Ukrainian technicians were successfully trained.

In particular, two groups of technical specialists from the hospitals of the State Border Guard Service and the National Guard of Ukraine have recently been trained abroad in the operation and maintenance of buses and equipment installed on them. They also gained skills in accommodating and transporting the wounded, considering their condition.

This NATO assistance project also provides for the maintenance of the donated medical buses for three years. They also received a two-year subscription to Starlink satellite communications systems installed on them and the supply of medical supplies.

The State Border Guard Service noted that Norway had previously bilaterally transferred five military medical buses to Ukraine. "Therefore, this project will strengthen compatibility between individual ministries and agencies of Ukraine and promote the implementation of common standards in evacuation and first aid for the wounded," the State Border Guard Service emphasized.
