This was reported by the press service of the Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU). It is stated that the appearance of North Korean troops was recorded on October 23, 2024. The intelligence officers detail that the North Korean soldiers who have arrived in Russia are being trained at five military training grounds located in the east of the aggressor state: Baranovsky, Donguz, Yekaterinoslavsky, 248th and 249th.

It will take several weeks to equip and coordinate the North Korean military that Russia plans to deploy in the war against Ukraine.

According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the number of North Korean troops deployed is now about 12,000, including 500 officers, and three Pyongyang generals. Moscow has appointed Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov as the person responsible for overseeing the training and adaptation of the DPRK troops.

The soldiers sent by Pyongyang are provided with ammunition, bedding, winter clothing, winter footwear, and hygiene products. In particular, Moscow will provide each North Korean with 50 meters of toilet paper and 300 grams of soap on a monthly basis, according to established regulations.

The DIU emphasizes that the Kremlin has high hopes for the North Korean factor in the war against Ukraine and the global confrontation with the West. Recently, Militarnyi reported that the United States Congress called for direct military action in the event of North Korean troops' involvement in the war against Ukraine.

The statement, in particular, suggested allowing strikes by American long-range weapons on Russian territory in response to the involvement of North Korean troops.
