Turkish Gendarmerie Receives First Gökbey Helicopter

Still from the video of the President of Turkey The Turkish Gendarmerie has received its first new T625 Gokbey helicopter. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that a total of 20 of these new helicopters are planned to be delivered to various security agencies.
"On the occasion of the 101st anniversary of our Republic, we have made the first delivery of our Gokbey helicopter, designed for the needs of the General Command of our Gendarmerie," stated the Turkish President. The Turkish Gendarmerie, which is responsible for law enforcement in the country, will receive 3 T625 helicopters.

In addition, Gokbeys will be delivered:
- Ground Forces - 7 helicopters;
- Air Force - 4 helicopters;
- Main Security Directorate - 3 helicopters;
- Coast Guard - 3 helicopters.
In the future, the Turkish Navy will receive most of the new helicopters.

"We continue to plan the serial production of 57 more Gokbey helicopters for the needs of our Navy Command," Erdogan said. In addition, after the beginning of 2026, sanitary versions of this helicopter will be delivered to the Ministry of Health.
The President also reminded that the first flight of the T625 Gokbey with the Turkish TS1400 engine developed by TEI was made in 2023.

The TS1400 engine with a capacity of 1400 hp was first presented in December 2020, followed by testing. The TS1400 engine has a rotational speed of 23,000 rpm and a practical ceiling of more than 6,000 meters.

At the same time, the T625 Gokbey has a total takeoff weight of 6 tons, seats 12 passengers, and reaches a maximum speed of 306 km per hour.
It can stay in the air for more than 3.5 hours, and with the use of an external fuel tank--for over 5 hours, and reach a maximum range of 948 km.
