Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated this in Montreal at a ministerial conference on the human dimension of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, Ukrinform reports.

"In these challenging times - and make no mistake, every democracy in the world is now facing challenging times - it would be convenient (and certainly some say) that we have our own problems at home, we can't keep our support for Ukraine. But that's exactly what the Kremlin wants. They (Russia - ed.) have a long view of history," Trudeau said.

Trudeau also noted that it is not a problem for Russia to send thousands of its citizens to their deaths "trying to wait us out." "That's why we all need to redouble our efforts," Trudeau said. The Canadian Prime Minister also emphasized that for Putin, the invasion of Ukraine was "a mistake on top of a mistake. " He noted that Putin had failed to consider one factor: the strength, resilience and courage of the Ukrainian people.

"After almost a thousand days (since the start of the full-scale war - ed.), your resolve has never been stronger. Your belief in a free, democratic, secure and proud Ukraine is unwavering, so the future victory will be both yours and ours," Trudeau emphasized. On Wednesday, a two-day thematic conference dedicated to the fourth point of the Ukrainian Formula for Peace, "Release of prisoners and deportees," started in Montreal, Canada.

Representatives of about 70 states and international organizations attended the event. Canada and Norway organized the conference as co-chairs of the working group on implementing this point. Previously, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that Canada would provide Ukraine with a military aid package worth C£64.8 million Canadian dollars (£47 million).

This package includes small arms and ammunition, personal protective equipment, military uniforms for women, and drones.

Canada will contribute to the training of Ukrainian soldiers and contribute to the IT Capability Coalition.
