The US suspects the company of illegal export of technology to Russia

The American company Eleview International Inc. and two of its executives are accused of exporting millions of dollars worth of American technology to Russia to circumvent sanctions. The press service of the U.S. Department of Justice reported on this.

Heads of Eleview International Inc., Oleg Nayandin, 54, of Fairfax, Virginia, and Vitaliy Borisenko, 39, of Vienna, Virginia, made their initial appearance on November 4 in the Eastern District of Virginia pursuant to a now unsealed complaint charging them with conspiracy to violate the Export Control Reform Act. According to Assistant Attorney General Matthew G. Olsen of the Justice Department's National Security Division, the suspects, whose nationality has not been disclosed, used three tax evasion schemes to circumvent export restrictions imposed on Russia after the full-scale invasion.

According to the prosecution, from March 2022 to June 2023, Eleview International Inc. shipped American goods and technologies to Russia through Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Finland.

The U.S. Department of Justice noted that as part of the scheme with Turkey, the defendants could have exported telecommunications equipment worth approximately £1.48 million. Under the Finnish scheme, they could export goods worth approximately £3.45 million that could be used to manufacture drones.

And through Kazakhstan, the company exported dual-use goods to the Russian Federation worth approximately £1.47 million. If convicted, Nayandin and Borysenko face a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
