Russia announced a drone attack on an arsenal in the Novgorod region

The attack was recorded around 2 a.m. Kyiv time in the village of Kotovo, where the 13th arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Defense Ministry is located. There are also reports that the Russian military fired small arms at the drones.

According to the ASTRA Telegram channel, residents of Kotovo were evacuated after the drone attack. Other details of the attack and its aftermath remain unknown at this time.

The governor of the Novgorod region claimed at night that several unmanned aerial vehicles were detected and allegedly destroyed by Russian air defense forces in the region. According to him, no casualties were reported, and law enforcement agencies are working at the scene.

In the morning, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that 20 UAVs were allegedly shot down over the territory of the Novgorod region that night.

The Russian 13th Arsenal is located almost 700 kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border. This Russian ammunition depot has a total area of about 3 square kilometers.

The day before, the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck an arsenal in the Russian city of Karachev, Bryansk region, with American ATACMS missiles.

This was the first use of these weapons after US President Joe Biden recently approved Ukraine's use of these missiles to strike Russian territory.
