Soldiers of the Shkval Special Battalion of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the First Winter Campaign drove the Russian invaders out of their position near Toretsk. The brigade's press service reported on this and published a video on Telegram. The Shkval Battalion consists of ex-convicts who voluntarily joined the country's defense.

The brigade spoke about a successful assault operation that helped stabilize the situation on one of the front lines near Toretsk in the Donetsk region. The video captures that the assault targeted trenches and dugouts in one of the areas where the Russians were trying to hold the line.

The footage shows the dynamic clearing and capture of a prisoner of war through the eyes of the commander of one of the Ukrainian assault groups.

During the battle, two invaders were killed, two more invaders surrendered, and the rest fled, the 28th Brigade said. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that over the past day, Russian invaders tried to break into the Ukrainian defense in the Toretsk sector seven times. Russian soldiers near the settlements of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka received a fierce rebuff from Ukrainian defenders five times.

Previously, soldiers of the Safari Regiment neutralized Russian servicemen in an ambush using intercepted enemy radio communications.

Thanks to the information received, the soldiers organized an ambush and "caught" the enemy moving between buildings.
