Ukrainian foreign minister leaves OSCE plenary hall for Russian counterpart's speech – video

Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, has left the OSCE plenary hall before the speech of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Before that, at the end of his speech, Sybiha called Lavrov a war criminal.

The Ukrainian foreign minister was joined by a number of other foreign ministers and diplomats.

In particular, a video published by the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs shows that after Sybiha, the foreign ministers of Poland and Czechia, Radoslaw Sikorski and Jan Lipavsky, who had previously said they would not listen to Lavrov's speech at the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting, left the hall. It is known that Lavrov, despite being under EU sanctions, is taking part in the OSCE ministerial meeting in Malta. This is his first trip to an EU country during the full-scale war.

According to media reports, Lavrov is attending a lunch on the first day of the OSCE meeting but is not attending the dinner, which will focus on Russian aggression against Ukraine.

Background: Last year, Lavrov was allowed to attend an OSCE ministerial meeting in North Macedonia, which is not yet an EU member state.
