A video of its destruction, as well as the destruction of other equipment, was published on the official Telegram page of the 3rd Brigade. The damage to the Russian flamethrower system is likely to have been repeated, as the published footage shows pre-existing damage and smoke, which is likely the result of a previous FPV drone hit. The Russian system was defeated by the soldiers of the FATUM unit from the 3rd Assault Brigade.

In addition to the flamethrower system, the FATUM unit destroyed a significant number of enemy vehicles, including trucks transporting personnel and military equipment, as well as UAZ vehicles. In addition, enemy personnel who came within the range of the unit's FPV drones were also hit.

It is worth noting that in early September 2024, the soldiers of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade also hit Solntsepek in the Kharkiv region.

The system was hit by an FPV drone as it was leaving its firing position. Another system was destroyed in Zaporizhzhia. During the reconnaissance, the SSU officers discovered the position of the Solntsepyok, which was fully equipped with ammunition and ready to fire.

The attack resulted in the detonation of a munition, which destroyed the TOS-1A Solntsepyok system along with the crew. According to the Oryx portal analyst, the Russian army has already lost more than 30 TOS-1 Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower systems. The occupiers are actively using the Solntsepyok system to attack light armored vehicles, manpower, and to destroy fortifications.

Solntsepyok uses MO.1.01.04M 220 mm thermobaric shells, which are 3700 mm long and weigh 217 kg.

These unguided rockets consist of a thermobaric or incendiary warhead, a fuze, and a solid rocket motor. Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the Achilles battalion of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Ivan Sirko had hit two TOS-1A Solntsepyok. Both TOS-1As were hit from the stern to the tubes.

It is worth noting that the detonation of the combat vehicles was not recorded, so it can be assumed that they were "caught" after completing the mission.

The damage to the guides puts the combat vehicle out of action for a certain period of time, so the TOS-1As will be sent for repair, which will reduce the combat capabilities of Russian troops in the area.
