The press service of the 225th Assault Battalion released footage of the destroyed vehicles. The Russian assault group of three armored vehicles, which was mindlessly moving in a straight line to the position of the Defense Forces, was defeated on the approach by the Ukrainian military. These vehicles, which are quite rare on the battlefield, are rarely seen in the airborne brigades and marines of the Russian Armed Forces but are actively used by special forces units.
However, verifying Russian units by type of equipment in the Kursk region is currently difficult, as Russian troops use a mixed fleet of vehicles. For example, paratroopers can be equipped with MP-3s, while marines can be equipped with amphibious assault vehicles and Akhmat armored personnel carriers.
The understaffing of Russian troops in this area can be explained by high losses and the lack of an armored vehicle reserve, which is why units are supplied with combat units available at the moment. In addition, it is worth noting that this direction is a record holder in terms of the number of wheeled armored vehicles involved in combat. We are talking about the already mentioned Tiger armored vehicles, numerous Akhmat and AMN-590951 armored personnel carriers, BTR-82a armored personnel carriers, and the occasional Sarmat.
Their active use is possible due to the developed network of highways and, until recently, active maneuver combat operations in the region.

Only a day earlier, on December 9, operators of the Pentagon company of the 225th Assault Battalion destroyed a mechanized assault group in the same area that was trying to cross to the left bank of the Snahost River and occupy the village of Daryino.
The Russian operation was carried out at night in difficult weather conditions under heavy snowfall, which was supposed to hide the approach of the equipment and the direction of the crossing from Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance units. However, the scouts detected the enemy in time at the stage of forming a strike group consisting of tanks and armored personnel carriers.

The coordinated actions of Ukrainian units in this area (here) allowed them to break the Russian mechanized convoy and disrupt the enemy offensive.
