Three ATACMS Missiles Hit Russian Nebo-M Radar in Ukrainian Strike

The corresponding video was shared by Maxim Tucker on his X-account. It is reported that the Nebo-M radar was detected by a reconnaissance drone in eastern Ukraine, after which a missile strike was launched at its position. On October 3, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially reported that this radar had been hit, but no video footage was provided.

Kostyantin's drones were in the air for only 50 minutes before he discovered the station and called in a devastating strike by US-supplied Atacms long-range missiles.

A month later, President Biden authorised the use of the missiles to strike targets inside Russia.

It is worth noting that the extent of damage to the system remains unknown. This is not the first time such radar stations have been damaged in the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war.

Previously, at the end of May, it was reported that a Russian Nebo-M radar system was damaged as a result of a missile strike on an airfield near occupied Luhansk. At that time, experts of the CyberBoroshno Telegram channel analyzed the images of the Luhansk airfield for May 28.

They concluded that the missile strike probably damaged components of the 55Zh6M Nebo-M multifunctional mobile radar system, namely the RLM-M and RLM-D radars.

ATACMS ballistic missiles were also used in the attack.

55Zh6M Nebo-M

55Zh6M Nebo-M is a mobile radar system for detecting aerodynamic and ballistic targets at medium and high altitudes, which is part of the "Nebo" family of radars. The complex is designed to determine three target coordinates. The Russians claim that Nebo-M is capable of detecting small targets and objects constructed using low-visibility technologies.

The task of searching for and tracking air targets is divided between the meter-range band - RLM-M and the decimeter- and centimeter-band radars - RLM-D and RLM-C, respectively.

Each of them is mounted on a separate vehicle chassis.
