Russian forces launch large-scale artillery attack on apartment blocks in Kherson: people injured

Russian forces launched a large-scale artillery attack on the city of Kherson on the morning of 20 December, hitting apartment blocks. Civilians are reported to have been injured. The Ukrainian authorities are urging people to stay in shelters.

Details: Prokudin noted that the city was under a large-scale artillery attack and urged people to take cover. A 76-year-old man was severely injured in the morning bombardment. He sustained a mine-blast injury and shrapnel wound to his chest.

Another 63-year-old man was taken to hospital with contusion, mine-blast and closed head injuries.

Update: At 06:39, Mrochko reported that a third person had been injured and taken to hospital following the large-scale Russian attack on Kherson.

The injured man, aged 44, sustained blast injuries and a traumatic amputation of fingers on his right hand.
