Russians strike Kyiv with Kinzhal and Iskander ballistic missiles – photos

Serhii Popko, Head of Kyiv City Military Administration, has reported that the Russians had likely attacked the capital with Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles and Iskander/KN-23 ballistic missiles in the morning on 20 December. It is likely that the enemy used Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles launched from MiG-31K aircraft and Iskander/KN-23 ballistic missiles. As a result of this attack, wreckage fell in three districts of the city."

Details: Specifically, an office building, a road surface and a gas pipe were damaged in the Holosiivskyi district, leading to a gas leak. Five cars caught fire.

Early reports indicate that one person has been killed and another injured. The information is being updated. The facade of an office building was damaged at another location, with subsequent fires recorded on the roof.

There was destruction  caused on the 14th floor and it is likely that people are currently trapped there. Two injured people have been hospitalised.

Wreckage caused a fire in a non-residential building in the Solomianskyi district. The fire has been extinguished and no injuries reported.

  • The Russians launched an attack on Kyiv on the morning of 20 December. A series of powerful explosions was heard in the city and authorities confirmed that air defence systems were responding.

    Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that cars had been on fire, a heating pipeline damaged and two people injured in the Holosiivskyi district of the capital.
