Baerbock announced 20 million euro of financial aid to pay for Startlink services
While on a visit to the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv on Tuesday, 10 January, Annalena Baerbock, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany announced 20 million euros of financial aid for Ukraine to pay for the Starlink satellite connection service. Today, Baerbock announced that Germany would raise 20 million euros for this cause."
The money will go to purchase 10,000 Starlink terminals, a third of which will be handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "The real-time connection will allow the Ukrainian troops to precisely coordinate their actions while defending their Motherland and to better repel Russian attacks", the German authority states.
During her visit in Kharkiv, Baerbock also discussed the further German military aid for Ukraine, ways of holding Russia accountable, Russian war crimes and perspectives of the EU integration of Ukraine with her Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba. Baerbock became the first German official to visit Kharkiv from the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Moreover, she is also the first Minister of Foreign Affairs who visited Kharkiv since February 2022. During the visit, which was kept secret due to security concerns, Baerbock was accompanied by Dmytro Kuleba and Oleksii Makeiev, the Ukrainian ambassador in Germany.

Annalena Baerbock is one of the most Ukraine-supporting German government officials who has visited the country multiple times since the beginning of the full-scale war.
She acted for providing Kyiv with necessary armament and criticised Russia and its leader Vladimir Putin many times.
Recently, she rejected the "Christmas truce" announced by Russia.
