Elbit Systems strikes a deal to supply 122mm ammunition to the European country
Elbit Systems announced a £70 million contract to produce ammunition for a European country. The duration of the agreement is 3 years. The press service of the company stated this in its message.
It is noted that the deal covers the supply of 122-mm ammunition of increased range, "which should significantly increase the performance and efficiency of operations." The ammunition will allow ground forces to concentrate fire at a range of 40 km. "The missile provides simple autonomous operation in various weather conditions and can be ready to launch within less than one minute," it said.

Elbit Systems manufactures 122 mm Accular missiles. These munitions adapt to already developed and tested platforms. The company's website notes that the ammunition meets the requirements of urban warfare and satisfies the need for an operational reaction in almost real-time.
Accular can neutralize targets at a distance of up to 40 km and is particularly resourceful in areas where the use of traditional artillery is limited by terrain, distance, and accuracy. The missile is equipped with a unitary penetration warhead or guided-fragmentation warhead capable of neutralizing most artillery targets on a modern battlefield with minimal collateral damage.

Ammunition for Ukraine
European countries and NATO member states plan to increase the production of artillery ammunition in 2023. This is directly related to the fighting in Ukraine and the support of the Defense Forces.
WSJ journalists assessed that Ukraine uses approximately 40,000 155mm artillery rounds monthly, and the production capacity of all European countries is currently at 300,000 units yearly.

In particular, NATO is discussing investing in enterprises in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Bulgaria to resume the production of rounds for the Ukrainian artillery arsenal. CNN journalists previously reported that the amount of Russian artillery shelling decreased by 75%.
It is assumed that Russia reduces artillery shelling due to limited supplies of ammunition or rethinks its own tactics amid successful Ukrainian offensive operations.
