Zelenskyy holds meeting of Staff of Supreme Commander-in-Chief to discuss situation in Bakhmut and Soledar

We have discussed the situation on the main fronts. Particular attention was paid to the battles in Bakhmut and Soledar. I emphasise: the units defending these cities will be supplied with ammunition and everything else necessary promptly and without interruption.
At the end of the meeting, it was about strengthening the Armed Forces with equipment and weapons that come from partners."
Details: The President's Office has pointed out that the meeting considered the issue of strengthening the defence forces with the help of equipment and weapons received from partners. The meeting was attended by Andrii Yermak, the head of the Office of the President; Oleksii Danilov, the National Security and Defence Council's Secretary; Oleksii Reznikov, the Defense Minister; Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces; Kyrylo Budanov, the Chief of the Defence Intelligence; Oleksandr Lytvynenko, the Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service; Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces; and commanders of operational fronts. The meeting was also attended by Denys Monastyrskyi, the Minister of Internal Affairs; Dmytro Kuleba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Oleksandr Kubrakov, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development; Serhii Marchenko, the Minister of Finance; other members of the government; Vasyl Maliuk, the Acting Head of the Security Service of Ukraine; and other heads of law enforcement agencies.

Background:
- In the evening of 9 January, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that in Soledar, which the Russian invaders are trying to capture, there are almost no "intact walls left".
- The press service of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the owner of Wagner PMC, published a photo allegedly from the Soledar salt mine and claimed that mercenaries had taken control of the entire city.
- At the same time, on the evening of 11 January, the General Staff of Ukraine reported that fighting continued in Soledar and that the occupiers were trying to take control of the supply routes of the Ukrainian military on the Bakhmut front.
- In an evening video address, Zelenskyy also emphasised that fighting continues in the city.
