In one extraordinary excerpt, Harry claimed his sibling attacked him after branding Meghan Markle 'difficult', while in another the Duke says he 'begged' his father not to marry Camilla, fearing that she would be their 'wicked stepmother'.

Giving his take on the book and Prince Harry's numerous interviews publicising his tell-all memoir, Pete wrote in his New Magazine column: 'I'm so sad seeing all of the claims.

I'm sure there are some bits that Harry genuinely means and that he's traumatised by some things but to continually throw your family under the bus just does not sit right with me, especially only after recently losing the Queen and Prince Phillip,'

'There are other ways of dealing with trauma than publicly trashing your family.

If he has a lot of trauma someone should be helping him.

'I always try to look at the positives of what someone is doing but I'm struggling to see what good can some of this.'

In the book, Harry also calls William his 'archenemy' and his 'polar opposite', and described the moment he was told by his father Charles their mother Diana had been killed in a car crash in Paris.

Harry accuses his older brother of being the aggressor during Megxit, claiming their relationship has become so strained and damaged that the Prince of Wales would only 'scowl' at him.

The Duke also reveals that he held a secret meeting with William and Charles hours after the funeral of Prince Philip in April 2021 - close to the grave of King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson - but said his father and brother wouldn't listen to him and claimed not to understand why he had emigrated.

Harry also includes personal stories, admitting to drug use, having a frostbitten penis at William and Kate's wedding and detailing how he lost his virginity.

It is dedicated to his wife Meghan, children Archie and Lilibet, and his late mother Diana and is published in 16 languages.
