US Defence Secretary: Russia suffers significant battle losses and is running out of ammunition
Lloyd Austin, the US Defence Secretary said on Friday at Ukraine Defence Contact Group in Germany that Russia was running out of ammunition, and it has suffered significant combat losses. Austin's speech was quoted by CNN, reports European Pravda. "The people of Ukraine have inspired the world while Russia is running out of ammunition.
It has suffered significant combat losses," Austin said. The head of the Pentagon noted that Moscow is now turning to its few remaining partners to restock its tragic and unnecessary invasion, "but even Iran and North Korea won't admit that they are supplying Russia.."
"Just compare that to the groundswell of support for a free and sovereign Ukraine represented in this room," Austin told delegates on Friday. After the address of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the participants of the meeting, Austin said that "we will continue to defend the principle that borders cannot be redrawn by force."
On Thursday, the United States announced an additional £2.5 billion in military aid to Ukraine. The package will include more armoured vehicles and ammunition.

But the main focus of the meeting is focused on whether Germany will send Leopard battle tanks to Ukraine or at least agree to their transfer from third countries.
