Zelenskyy reports where electricity problems will occur in wake of Russian strikes

KATERYNA TYSHCHENKO -- MONDAY, 10 OCTOBER 2022, 21:55  President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported the current situation in oblasts regarding the resumption of electricity supply, disrupted as a result of Russian attacks on 10 October. Source: President's evening speech

Quote: "In parts of oblasts where electricity supply was disrupted due to strikes, it has already been restored. As of now: 

  • Kharkiv Oblast - 50% of electricity supply has been restored, energy engineers need a few hours to resume electricity supply for the majority of districts.
  • Poltava Oblast - resumed almost everywhere.
  • Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa oblasts are connected. 
  • Cherkasy - everything is there. 
  • Khmenytskyi - the greater part of the city has electricity, some cities and districts in the namesake oblast still have some work to do in order to give people an energy supply.
  • Chernihiv and Sumy Oblast, the city of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, Lviv, Ternopil, and Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts - we are working there. Some places we need hours, some places we have to wait a bit more, but the result is going to be achieved everywhere."

Details: Zelenskyy has insisted that all facilities that were damaged in the Russian terror attacks on Monday are going to be restored - it is only a matter of time.

  • On the morning of 10 October, Russians launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine.

    Explosions rang out in the centre of Kyiv, Dnipro, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, and Lviv.

  • Over the morning of 10 October, Russian troops used 84 cruise missiles and 24 unmanned aerial vehicles against peaceful cities of Ukraine.
