And by the end of the year, the number of Ukrainian soldiers trained will reach 30,000. EU High Representative Josep Borrell shared this in Stockholm, where an informal meeting of defense ministers of EU member states took place. "By the end of this month, our Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM-Ukraine) will complete the training of more than 11,000 Ukrainian soldiers.

By the end of the year, 30,000 servicemen will undergo this training. All member states expressed their satisfaction with the results achieved in this training mission and pledged to do more," Borrell said. He emphasized that such training becomes especially important at a time when tanks and other equipment start arriving in Ukraine, which requires appropriate training of Ukrainian crews.

"It is not just about individual training of the crews of each such tank, but also about the fact that they can fight together. This will require a lot of work from our training mission, which is already very busy. Such a training mission is a clear proof of our steadfast and loyal support of Ukraine.

This is the key message that I would like to send to public opinion after this meeting," the High EU Representative emphasized. He noted that today's meeting of European defense ministers was entirely dedicated to Ukraine and could not be otherwise. "We had a meeting with Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov, who informed us about the current military situation on the ground and explained the nature of Ukraine's military needs.

After we listened to Minister Reznikov, we know that the next weeks and months, but mainly weeks, will be critical, as the military situation remains very difficult, especially in Bakhmut, where fierce fighting continues," Borrell emphasized. As previously reported, on March 8, an informal meeting of European defense ministers took place in Stockholm under the auspices of Sweden, which currently chairs the EU.

The first and key issue of this meeting was the acceleration of military assistance from the EU countries to Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression. Oleksii Reznikov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, participated in the first session of the meeting. In informal communication with the EU colleagues, he stated that Ukraine needs a million artillery ammunition.
