Government agrees to dismiss heads of three Oblast State Administrations
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the dismissal of the heads of the Luhansk, Odesa and Khmelnytskyi Oblast State Administrations. Source: Taras Melnychuk, representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Ukrainian Parliament, on Telegram Details: Melnychuk reported that the government has agreed to the dismissal of:
- Serhii Haidai as head of the Luhansk Oblast State Administration;
- Maksym Marchenko as head of the Odesa Oblast State Administration;
- Serhii Hamalii as head of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast State Administration.
It should be noted that rumours of Haidai's dismissal began to circulate as early as January 2023.
Ukrainska Pravda reported, citing sources, that Haidai may be appointed as Ukraine's ambassador to Kazakhstan.
Marchenko was appointed as head of the Odesa Oblast Military Administration in March 2022. He is a colonel of the Armed Forces. In 2015-2017, Marchenko was the commander of the 24th Separate Aydar Assault Battalion and later led the 28th Separate Mechanised Brigade.
He holds the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 2nd and 3rd class.
He also has several awards from the Ministry of Defence.
