Russian forces fire up to 40 shells on Nikopol, damaging houses, kindergartens and shops

Russian invaders shelled the Nikopol district of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with Grad multiple-launch rocket systems and heavy artillery in the early hours of 1 November, causing much destruction in Nikopol, and in Marhanets hromada, people were left without electricity and water supply [a hromada is an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories - ed.]. Source: Valentyn Reznichenko, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration, on Telegram Quote from Reznichenko: "The Russians fired at Nikopol district all night long...

They hit Marhanets and Nikopol hromadas using Grad MLRSs and heavy artillery. Preliminary information indicates there are no casualties." Details: At the same time, Reznichenko said that Russian forces had fired up to 40 shells on Nikopol alone.

Fourteen high-rise and private buildings, a kindergarten, a pharmacy, a hairdresser's, shops and bank premises were damaged in the city.

In Marhanets hromada, shelling damaged the power line and cut off the power to the water supply pumping station, leaving more than 40,000 families without water, and more than 10,000 without electricity.

Reznichenko noted that electrical engineers had worked all night and repaired everything, which is why people had electricity once more by the morning. The pumping station has also resumed operation, so households will soon have water again. Reznichenko also said that Air Command Skhid (East) had shot down three Russian kamikaze drones over Dnipropetrovsk Oblast overnight.
