Spain is providing a new package of military aid, which includes a battery of Aspide anti-aircraft missile systems, Hawk air defence systems, anti-tank missile systems, guns and ammunition. Quote from Kuleba: "I am very pleased that there is a new package, it is already on its way to Ukraine, and in the near future, our state will strengthen its defence capabilities by receiving a battery of Aspide anti-aircraft missile systems and missiles for them, four Hawk air defence systems, anti-tank missile systems, guns and shells for them, as well as other military equipment." The Foreign Minister noted that Spain's decision to transfer Hawk anti-aircraft missile systems a few weeks ago was a signal for other countries to start looking for Hawk systems to transfer to Ukraine.

"This is exactly what we asked Spain for; this is what will help us protect our civilian infrastructure," Kuleba said. The Aspide anti-aircraft missile systems are designed to protect strategic facilities, such as industrial plants, airfields or seaports, and can operate as part of an echeloned air defence system and exchange data with other types of SAMs.

The Hawk air defence system is the predecessor of the American-made Patriot missile defence system. Earlier it was reported that the United States of America is also considering the possibility of transferring these systems to Ukraine.
