According to the decision of the Riksdag, the Swedish Parliament supported the government's proposal to transfer a new military aid package to Ukraine. The government justifies its proposal by the fact that the provision of military equipment to Ukraine is in the interests of Sweden. The aid package for Ukraine is estimated at £630 million.
It is noted that an additional amendment will be made to this year's budget.

"In addition, the Government may decide to sell 14 artillery pieces of the type Archer Artillery System to the UK, which previously donated artillery pieces of this kind to Ukraine," the parliament's decision reads.
Sweden currently has 48 Archer Artillery Systems, of which 24 are used by the Swedish Armed Forces. The other 24 are in storage. In addition to eight Archer tanks and ten Leopard 2, Sweden decided to support Ukraine with 50 combat vehicles, 90 air defense systems and anti-tank weapons.

In February 2023, Sweden confirmed IRIS-T and Hawk anti-aircraft missile systems' transfer to Ukraine. Sweden tries to make its contribution so that Russian aviation does not receive an advantage in the air.
The number of air defense systems and transfer dates were not announced.
