Volunteers secure Scorpion light tanks for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Ukrainian volunteers are planning to purchase FV101 Scorpion light tanks for the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Volunteers from the international organization Armored Turtle have reported about this. Armored vehicles with a 76mm gun were found in Great Britain.
Volunteers are currently looking for funds to fulfill a request from the Ukrainian Territorial Defense Forces. "Our group will ensure the export of military equipment from Britain and its unimpeded transit through Europe to Ukraine," Armored Turtle said.

According to Armored Turtle, the FV101 Scorpion is currently on sale in the UK for GBP90,000. "Their value is that they have not been deactivated (when it's impossible to shoot from weapons - ed.) like most similar equipment on sale," the volunteers note. Having entered service in 1972, the Scorpion light reconnaissance tank is characterized by a number of unique features.
The tank can be easily transported by air and is also equipped with night vision devices.

Its hull and turret are made of aluminum armor, the power plant is located in the front of the hull. The main armament of the Scorpion is the L23A1 76mm semi-automatic cannon.
It is installed in the frontal part of the turret in a setting paired with a machine gun. The ammunition of the gun is 40 unitary shots. Its specifications: combat weight 7.94 t, body length 4.78 m, width 2.23 m, height 2.49 m.
