SCALES OF JUSTICE: Drink drivers and drug drivers at Oxford Magistrates' Court (Image: Oxford Mail) WILLIAM HORTON, 27, of Butts Road, Horspath, admitted failing to provide a specimen of blood for analysis at Abingdon[1] police station on New Year's Eve last year after being arrested on suspicion of having committed a driving offence. He was fined GBP400, banned from the roads for 17 months and must pay GBP245 in costs and surcharge.
CRAIG WALTON, 44, of Divinity Road, Oxford[2], pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order by being in the company of a woman in The Slade, Headington, in breach of the order. He was fined GBP100. GARY MCFARLANE, 30, of Perth Road, Bicester[3], admitted stealing Jack Daniels whiskey from Sainsbury's in Bicester.
The magistrates fined him GBP80, ordered he pays GBP25 in compensation and imposed GBP85 costs. GEORGE PALLET, 28, of Southend, Essex, pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker - a police constable - in Abingdon last November. He received a six month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay a GBP26 victim surcharge.
ANTONIO JONES, 56, of Milton Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to two counts of shoplifting from Tesco and Sainsbury's in the city. He was fined GBP80, ordered to pay GBP41 in compensation and a GBP32 victim surcharge. JACK HEATH, 28, of Watermans Road, Henley, pleaded guilty to using disorderly behaviour and damaging a door at the Old Tom pub in St Aldates, Oxford, on January 25.
He was ordered to pay GBP50 in compensation to the pub. NATHAN STEAR, 18, who gave a care of address in Pioneer Way, Bicester, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman in Banbury[4] by beating her last April. He also admitted failing to attend an earlier court hearing in January.
Steer received a community order with up to 40 rehabilitation activity requirement days and a restraining order restricting his contact with his victim until January 2025. He was ordered to pay GBP85 in costs. CHRISTOPHER JAMES, 46, of Bridgend, Wales, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly at The Old Swan pub in Minster Lovell on July 29 last year.
He was fined GBP184, must pay GBP159 in costs and surcharge, and an existing suspended prison sentence for an unrelated matter was allowed to continue. Story continues

ADAM STACHOWIAK, of Great Haseley, but whose age was not given on the court register, was found guilty of using an unlicensed vehicle on the Southern Bypass in Oxford on June 7 last year. The previous licence had expired in January and the annual rate of duty was GBP290. The magistrates ordered him to pay GBP118 in back duty, fined him GBP440 and ordered he pays GBP200 in costs to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, which brought the prosecution.
LUKE BUTLER, 32, of St Gabriels, Wantage[6], pleaded guilty to being drunk in charge of a black Vauxhall in Outram Road, Oxford.
Tests showed he was slightly over twice the legal drink-drive limit when he was found in charge of the car last December.
He was fined GBP266, given 10 points on his licence and ordered to pay GBP191 in costs and surcharge.
