According to the Pakistani newspaper Express Tribune, Station House Officer (SHO) Kabil Bhayo of the Khanpur police station was suspended after he tortured, harassed, manhandled and arrested Hindu shopkeepers for allegedly "violating the Ramzan Ordinance" by eating. The report said in a video that went viral on social media, the police officer was seen roaming the Ghotki district with a stick in his hands, using it to hit shoppers, including Hindu men who were reportedly preparing biryani for delivery orders in the local market. The chairman of the SOZ club in the 10th district of Vienna, Hakan Gordu, suggested this Ramzan decoration in a broadcast. Gordu also emphasised that this action would be a wonderful way to celebrate the city's diversity and raise awareness of different cultures and religions. The migrant party SOZ wants to use the Viennese tax money to ensure Vienna's streets are designed according to their faith on holidays. This could probably even be implemented under SPO Mayor Michael Ludwig. His political pandering to Muslims is similar to that of Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen, who never forgets to congratulate "all Muslims" on the fasting month.

For the Viennese FPO club chairman Maximilian Krauss and the liberal district chairman in Favoriten, member of the state parliament Stefan Berger, the demand for a Ramzan decoration is an "incomprehensible provocation by the Islamist lobby", which should be rejected in the strongest possible terms. Austria, and thus also the federal capital, is a Christian country where freedom of religion is very important.

However, this must not be misused for radical religious reasons.
