Defence Minister of Ukraine tells what is missing for effective counteroffensive

During a meeting with a delegation of the EU Committee on policy and security, Ukraine's Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov said that Ukraine needs heavy equipment and training of reserves for a counteroffensive against the Russian invaders. Source: Ministry of Defence of Ukraine Details: On 30 March, Oleksii Reznikov met with a delegation of the European Union Committee on policy and security headed by the chairman of the Committee, Delphine Pronk.

The minister informed the European partners about the current state of affairs on the front line, in particular in the northern, eastern and southern directions. 

Special attention is paid to the EU's assistance to the Defence Forces of Ukraine and professional training of Ukrainian servicemen abroad. Quote from Reznikov: "I am sincerely grateful to your countries for their systematic support and work done. Thanks to the supply of Western weapons, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are making progress on the battlefield. 

However, we are preparing for a counteroffensive operation, so Ukraine needs, first of all, heavy equipment and prepared reserves.

We are interested in conducting training of the Ukrainian military at all levels: from individual training of a soldier to collective exercises of brigade-level units.  I was personally convinced that the Ukrainian defenders have a high fighting spirit.

I can say with confidence that our guys are ready to continue fighting for Ukraine."

 

Details: Reznikov also noted that the issue of the supply of weapons and their accounting is given very close attention in the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

 

He introduced the foreign guests to the LOGFAS logistics program implemented in the Ministry of Defence, which is used by all NATO members and allows monitoring the supply of weapons to Ukraine from partner countries and monitoring the movement of material and technical assistance.

The defence minister also expressed hope that the Vilnius NATO summit will show that Ukraine is not only a reliable partner of the alliance, but also a country that has well studied the Russian aggressor and knows how to fight against it. Ambassadors of all 27 EU member states visited Ukraine for the first time in 400 days of full-scale war.
