The US is preparing a $2.6 billion military aid package for Ukraine
The United States may announce a new £2.6 billion military aid package to Ukraine as early as next week. Reuters reports that the package will include air surveillance radars, anti-tank missiles, fuel tanks and more. One of the two parts of the package which is worth £2.1 billion will be coming from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) funding.
Under this Initiative, weapons are ordered directly from industry rather than from U.S. weapons stocks. The remaining £500 million, mainly consisting of munitions, is expected to come from Presidential Drawdown Authority funds.
