Prince Harry stayed at Frogmore Cottage during UK visit: report

Prince Harry stayed at Frogmore Cottage -- his former place of residence before King Charles evicted him -- while visiting the UK last week, The Telegraph reported. The former royal, 38, made a surprise appearance in court for his phone-hacking case against The Daily Mail, joined by other high-profile celebrities such as Sir Elton John and model Elizabeth Hurley. Harry did not see his father during his visit, according to The Telegraph, but the Duke of Sussex retrieved possessions that he and Meghan Markle left at Frogmore Cottage and shipped them to their £14 million Montecito, California mansion.

Following the release of Harry's bombshell novel "Spare," King Charles allegedly ordered the couple -- who were gifted the home by the late Queen Elizabeth as a wedding present -- to vacate the residence. According to reports, the Sussexes were "disappointed" to leave the five-bedroom property they had "made their home."

Following the release of Prince Harry's bombshell novel "Spare," King Charles allegedly told the couple -- who were gifted the property by the late Queen Elizabeth as a wedding present -- that they needed to vacate the residence.

Prince Harry did not see his father during the visit because the King was too busy, The Telegraph reported, noting it was his first visit to the UK since given eviction orders. A royal insider previously claimed that Charles decided to evict the couple after his son described Queen Consort Camila as a "wicked stepmother."

"It was the last straw," an insider told The Mirror. "Harry was well aware how Camilla would be a red line for his father, and he crossed with flagrant disregard anyway."

The former royal used the time when he was not in court to retrieve possessions that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted in their California home.

Charles is said to have given the California-based couple a move-out deadline of May 6 -- the day Charles is officially crowned King -- according to the report.

Harry and Meghan are reportedly expecting the £2.8 million they spent on rent and renovations -- which amounted to over £3 million and sparked fury in royal circles -- to be returned.

Prince Andrew is said to be the next resident of Frogmore.
