Prince Harry may never have US citizenship and could be forced to …
Despite having moved almost all aspects of his life to the United States, there are fresh concerns that Prince Harry will never be awarded US citizenship. Meghan Markle and the brother of Prince William returned to the US in the hope of finding a quieter life away from the spiteful media in the United Kingdom. Whilst this has mostly been true, with their international popularity on the rise, there are growing worries that Prince Harry will not be able to stay in the country indefinitely.
He has been warned that he may never be awarded a Green Card or be granted full citizenship due to his admission that during his life he had taken a variety of recreational drugs, according to a report published in The Sun. Harry had explained how he had experimented with cocaine, marijuana, magic mushrooms and ayahuasca... all of which are either banned or tightly regulated in America. A lawyer has warned Prince Harry that he is going to face further difficulties as a result of these comments, and the issue has even raised questions over how he has been granted his current visa.
"If the Prince admitted to any immigration officer that he had previously used illegal drugs, he would be deemed ineligible for a visa," the solicitor Kaitlin Davies stated.
"Without exceptional circumstances, Harry would likely never be able to hold a Green Card or become a US citizen, if he formally admits to using cocaine."
There is debate over his admissions
Whilst there is next to no proof of Harry using the narcotics, there is now a renewed debate about what constitutes a real admission.
Despite publishing the statements in his memoirs, it's unclear if that would pass the threshold to force the US to withhold citizenship, and that he may need to admit to an actual officer of immigration for the claims to be utilized against him.
