After mass deaths of seagulls across Czechia, veterinarians confirmed the cause of the death as a new genotype of the bird flu virus, identical to the one uncovered in seagulls in West Europe, according to Czech State Veterinary Administration spokesman Petr Vorlicek.

No extraordinary veterinary measures were taken, Vorlicek said, given that the outbreak targeted wild birds.
