The incident happened at the intersection of Vatutina and Gubkina streets. As a result, several cars were damaged, one of them was thrown into the roof of the nearby store by a shock wave.

Also, destruction was recorded in several apartments in houses around. Two victims were reported at the time. "At the intersection of one of the main streets there was a huge funnel with a radius of 20 meters.

There is damage to the glazing in a nearby apartment building, a blast wave damaged several parked cars and knocked down power poles," said the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov. Subsequently, the cause of the destruction in Belgorod was established as the "off-duty descent of aviation ammunition" from the Russian Su-34 bomber. The corresponding statement was made by the Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country.

Videos of the fall of ammunition on the streets of the Russian city which were published on social media, show that a heavy aerial bomb had fallen from a Russian warplane. The bomb did not explode, however the kinetic energy from a high altitude fall formed a funnel and led to the above-mentioned destruction of the road surface, as well as damage to buildings and cars.

As previously reported, in the Russian city of Belgorod and the region on the night of Monday April 17, fires at infrastructure facilities were reported.
