Prince Louis looks all grown up in new pictures as he celebrates 5th …

Prince William and Kate Middleton have released brand new photos of Prince Louis as he celebrates his fifth birthday. The Prince and Princess of Wales' youngest child turns five today and, as tradition, the couple shared new portraits of their son. Louis looks all grown up in the sweet snaps, one of which sees him smiling for the camera in a checked white and navy shirt and colourful knitted jumper.

"A very happy birthday to Prince Louis." The Royals never reveal exactly how the children's birthdays are celebrated, but Kate has given some glimpses into their traditions over the years. There is one task she carries out every year the night before Louis, or siblings Prince George or Princess Charlotte's birthdays.

Once the kids go to bed, Kate makes them their very own birthday cake.

The mum-of-three revealed she loves to make her own birthday cakes when she and William appeared on A Berry Royal Christmas with Mary Berry back in 2019. "I love making the cake," she said. "It's become a bit of a tradition that I stay up 'til midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing and I make far too much.

But I love it." Kate's cake-making skills will be put to the test next week again as Princess Charlotte will celebrate her eighth birthday on May 2nd. It's a busy time for the Royals as King Charles' Coronation will then take place on May 6th.

Louis and Charlotte are expected to attend the special event, while oldest brother Prince George has been given an important role - a page of honour to the King.
