Government names six cities to be restored “better than before”
The government has identified six Ukrainian settlements that will be rebuilt on an experimental basis, "comprehensively and according to new principles." Source: Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal Details: These are Borodianka and Moshchun in Kyiv Oblast, Trostianets in Sumy Oblast, Posad-Pokrovske in Kherson Oblast, Tsyrkuny in Kharkiv Oblast and Yahidne in Chernihiv Oblast.
"The Rapid Restoration Plan for this year has five priorities. In fact, it includes hundreds of different projects, hundreds of cities and towns where recovery will take place simultaneously.
One of the main principles is "to build it back better", i.e. "rebuild better than it was before". In the mentioned cities, not individual buildings and structures will be rebuilt, but everything, with "a systematic approach, new planning and complete transformation of these settlements."
Shmyhal added that the implementation of the pilot project does not mean that the restoration will not concern other settlements.
