Rain is expected in flooded Kherson Oblast

Meteorologists are predicting thunderstorms and hail in some areas in Kherson Oblast, now devastated by flooding after the Russians blew up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant. Squalls and gusts of wind are expected at speeds of 15-20 metres per second.

Background: Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration, said that as of the morning of 9 June, the level of flooding in Kherson Oblast had finally begun to decrease - over the past night, the water level has subsided by 20 cm.

The evacuation of people and animals continues.
