Details: On 9 June, Zelenskyy and Kishida held a 30-minute telephone conversation. The president informed the Japanese Prime Minister about the consequences of Russia's blowing up of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant and his visit to the southern oblasts of Ukraine, which are in the disaster zone.

It was also noted that the destruction of the hydroelectric power plant created threats to the safety of the Zaporizhzhia NPP due to the lowering of the water level in the Kakhovka Reservoir. Kishida expressed his solidarity with the Ukrainian people in connection with the catastrophic consequences of the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.

"The latest crimes of the aggressor have confirmed that the Ukrainian Peace Formula is more relevant than ever. We must stop Russia's terror," the president stated.
The two leaders also discussed bilateral cooperation and the reconstruction of Ukraine. Kishida confirmed his readiness to hold a conference on the restoration of Ukraine in Japan early next year.
