Russian missiles hit residential buildings in centre of Kyiv, four were shot down by air defence.

An air raid siren has been announced in Kyiv Oblast.

Updated at 15:55: Kyrylo Tymoshenko, Deputy Head of the President's Office of Ukraine, reported that two Russian missile hits have been reported. The missiles hit residential buildings.

Updated at 15:35: Mayor Vitalii Klychko said that, according to preliminary information, two residential buildings were hit in Pechersk district of Kyiv. Several missiles were shot down by air defence over Kyiv.

Medics and rescuers are at the scene.

Updated at 15:25: Anti-aircraft defence systems were activated in the city. Kyiv City Military Administration has reported that four missiles were downed over the capital.

Two explosions occurred in the city.
