Kremlin rejects UN resolution on Ukraine’s compensation: dubbed it a “robbery”

"EUROPEAN PRAVDA" -- TUESDAY, 15 NOVEMBER 2022 14:33 Russia strongly opposes the UN General Assembly's resolution on reparations  for Ukrainian  losses caused by Russian full-scale aggression. This was stated by the press secretary of the president of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, writes "European Pravda" regarding Interfax.

"Naturally, the organizers of this process are trying to put the final touches on  the robbery of Russian gold and foreign exchange reserves, which have been completely and illegally blocked. This is a formalization of this robbery using the UN platform. This decision is not legally binding, and this is how we will treat it.

I am categorically against this, " Peskov said.

He noted that "Russia will do everything possible " to prevent the seizure of frozen Russian assets. "Against the background of absolute disregard for all the basics and rules of private property, international law, etc. in the last six months, of course, such Raider methods of seizure prevail. We will take all this into account when determining our future line[?line of action?]. ," Peskov said.

Earlier, the UN General Assembly held a special session that adopted a resolution, which calls on Russia to compensate for the damage caused by its full-scale aggression.

14 countries, following Russia's lead, voted against the resolution, including China and Serbia. Back in September, media reported that Ukraine had promoted a resolution in the UN General Assembly; the document was designed to shape the basis for setting an international compensation mechanism that could lead to the seizure of Russian state assets abroad worth up to US£300 billion.
