Explosions rock Kyiv and other cities: debris damage apartment building in capital

A series of explosions thundered on the night of 23-24 June in the cities of Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv and Kremenchuk, Ukrainian air defence forces were engaged; in the capital, fragments of a downed Russian missile damaged an apartment building. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that an air defence system had been triggered in the capital. According to the Air Force, cruise missiles moved towards Kyiv.

Suspilne also reports that the sounds of explosions were heard in Dnipro, Kharkiv and Kremenchuk. Vitalii Klitschko reported explosions in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv.

"According to preliminary information, debris from a missile hit a parking lot in Solomianskyi district. Emergency teams are on site. There is smoke on the upper floors of a residential building next to the parking lot as well.

Firefighters are working," he wrote on the social network.

The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that due to falling debris in Solomianskyi district, damage was done to an apartment building, and a fire broke out.

   

Updated at 04:05. Later, the Kyiv City Military Administration clarified that as a result of falling debris on a 24-storey building in Solomianskyi district, destruction and ignition occurred on the 15th, 16th and 17th floors. "Now we know about 2 victims.

One was treated on the spot, the other was hospitalised. Information is being clarified," said Serhii Popko, the Head of the City Military Administration. Earlier: On the night of 23-24 June, air-raid alarms were issued all over Ukraine thrice.
